Lenovo ThinkPad Edge series announced

[CES 2010] Lenovo targets the small-to-medium business (SMB) crowd with their new ThinkPad Edge laptop series which will come in varying sizes of 13″, 14″ and 15″ models. The 13″ model will boast the distinction of being the first ThinkPad laptop that is powered by AMD dual core processor technology alongside AMD’s VISION Pro Technology. Featuring a new progressive and strikingly clean appearance without compromising on classic ThinkPad hallmarks of durability and reliability, the ThinkPad Edge looks set to form you stand out from the rest each day you pull the laptop from your bag at a public place. After all, with features like a contemporary spill-resistant keyboard design and a larger multitouch touchpad, working would seem more to be a joy than daily drudgery. For example, the laptops include spill-resistant keyboards and value-added ThinkVantage Technologies like the Active Protection System and Rescue and Recovery. Boasting a battery life of around 8 hours, the ThinkPad Edge plus comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, while Bluetooth, 3G and WiMAX remain as options. The ThinkPad Edge will first be released in its 13″ variety from $549 upwards, with the 14″ and 15″ models to roll out later in Q2 onwards.
